Preventative Treatment

Regular Checkups and Cleaning - your best protection against dental decay is daily brushing and flossing but regular checkups and a professional clean, to remove any buildup of tartar, are also essential to maintaining optimum oral health. We will also provide instructions on diet, brushing and flossing techniques, the use of fluorides, and other aspects of dental care.

Fissure Seals - in cases of susceptibility to tooth decay, fissure sealing is often recommended. This painless procedure involves bonding a sealant material to form a complete protective barrier over natural deep grooves in the teeth.

Restorative Dentistry

Fillings - the placement of fillings in teeth is also known as restorative dentistry. Our commitment to providing exceptional dental care dictates that we use only the best materials and techniques for your restorative needs.

Composites - composite filling material is tooth-coloured so it blends in well to achieve a natural look. This procedure is fast and can be achieved immediately in the chair in just one appointment.

Crowns - or 'caps' are used to cover teeth which require restoration from extensive decay or substantial fillings. Crowns can either be porcelain or gold and are made to withstand strong chewing forces generated by the jaw.

Root Canal Therapy - this is the area of dentistry involved with the removal of the pulp (or nerve) of a tooth. This treatment is used to eliminate pain and infection.

Cosmetic Dentistry

Cosmetic dentistry is a blending of art and science. We can create an aesthetically pleasing smile by using techniques such as tooth whitening and veneers.

Teeth Whitening - this is a fast, easy and effective way to brighten teeth using a mild whitening gel that is retained in a custom-made plastic tray which is worn overnight. This procedure benefits teeth that have been discoloured by common causes such as coffee/tea, wine, certain foods and smoking.

Veneers - a veneer is a thin layer of either porcelain or bonded composite made to fit over the front surface of a tooth. Veneers can improve the colour, shape and position of teeth and achieve the smile you've always dreamed of.

Replacement of Missing Teeth

Dentures - these are removable appliances that can be either partial (replacing only a few teeth) or full (replacing all teeth). They may be made of different materials such as acrylic or cast cobalt chrome depending on your specific needs.

Bridge Work - this is a fixed, natural looking appliance that can replace a missing tooth and restore heavily filled teeth.

Implants - dental implants are the most modern way to permanently replace one or more missing teeth. A titanium implant is surgically placed in the jawbone and is used to anchor the replacement tooth, bridge or denture. The benefits are numerous including: decreased shrinkage of the bone, greatly improved chewing efficiency and the correction of ill-fitting dentures.

Gum & Bad Breath Treatments

Healthy teeth begin with healthy gums. At Advanced Dentistry we offer tailor made, comprehensive care for the treatment of diseases of the gums (periondontitis) and bad breath.

Minor Oral Surgery

Minor oral surgery, including the removal of teeth, can be performed on our premises.

For more complicated procedures, we are happy to refer you to highly qualified specialists who are able to complete treatment under a general anaesthetic if necessary.

We pride ourselves on our after-care and maintenance services. We ensure that we follow through with the progress of your recovery and that we are always at hand to help you.

Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.
